Molecular Sequence Analysis
A variety of software is available for analyzing molecular sequences. This includes alignment of sequences and construction of phylogenetic trees.
Geographic Information System (GIS)
GIS is a tool that allows users to create interactive queries (user created searches), analyze the spatial information, edit data, maps, and present the results of all these operations. Presented below are a few of the software that GIS supports.
Phylogenetic Analysis
The analysis of the taxonomical classification of organisms based on how closely they are related in terms of evolutionary differences.
Population Genetics
Population genetics is the study of the allele frequency distribution and change under the influence of the four evolutionary forces: natural selection, genetic drift, mutation, gene flow and selective mating. It also takes account of population subdivision and population structure in space.
Multiple Sequence Alignment
This is a bioinformatics tool that compares multiple DNA or amino acid sequences and aligns them to highlight their similarities.
